Power of human cooperation

You get some great, amazingly fantastic news. What’s the first thing you do?

I would celebrate with the people I love, for sure. But let’s think first about what those great, amazingly fantastic news would be. To be such an incredible thing, they shouldn’t benefit only me, personally. Instead, they should be good to the entire humanity. By the way, they only can be achieved by the power of human cooperation.

Cure for deadly diseases

Many diseases have taken so many lives, it’s hard to imagine a world were they wouldn’t exist. Would we give the same importance to life if the world didn’t have any diseases? I’m afraid that humanity would become cynical and forget how painful it is for us to loose someone we love. But in any case, at least our generation, which have lost so many dear friends, would probably be grateful.

Global warming reversal

We are seeing the effects of climate change everyday. Many catastrophes, that should be avoided, are becoming more frequent with every passing year. Sometimes, distant events don’t affect us as much. Local events impact us more significantly. But this is something that will affect every single person in the planet. I can only wish that humanity as a group will work together to avoid this issue becoming more widespread. Collaboration is more important than ever.

Nuclear disarmament

I grew up during the Cold War and I know how sensitive and difficult it is to solve this issue. With tensions rising around the globe, this topic comes back to my mind more often than I would like. I’m still hopeful that governments will not escalate on talks of war. On the contrary, I can only wish they will de-escalate and make treaties of peace.

As I said, only news like these I would consider amazingly fantastic. Of course, they would demand and show the power of human cooperation. The celebrations would vary from warm hugs to hearty meals together. Holidays and festivals would be in order. I would love that at least one of them would become real.
