The owl

Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?

Let’s take a look at some of the characteristics that I’d like to be linked to. Or at least my writing efforts. I will give the reasons below, but I would like to be compared with the owl.

Mystery

It’s no secret that I love a good old mystery. I enjoy it in all forms: detective story, murder mystery, espionage thrillers. Who doesn’t want to dismantle secret societies trying to dominate the world? Or solve an enigma of who’s the serial killer? Besides, to catch a killer you must be observant, quiet, waiting to strike at the right moment. Like a bird of prey.

Wisdom

Other thing that I value so much is wisdom, or how it’s known by another name, philosophy. I enjoy listening to podcasts about it, and reading dialectal dialogues. Not only I want to know it in theory, but also want to live it in practice. I really strive to rule my life by good principles, and I believe philosophers have contributed a lot for that. Owls since antiquity are birds linked with wisdom.

Nocturnal habits

No doubt, I’m a nocturnal animal. I produce much better after the sunset. I am more alert, more awake, more disposed during the night. Sometimes I need to take a deliberate decision to go to bed, otherwise I would stay awake all night long. Since I need to work in the next day, I try to reach some balance. Most nights I go to sleep at the limit for me to be well in the morning.

For all of these reasons, the owl is my animal. I embrace its symbolism and significance.
