What is the biggest challenge you will face in the next six months?
It all started more than 2 years ago. I decided to create this blog for several reasons, most of them deeply personal. But, I haven’t always been constant. Right now I am in a 54-day streak and feeling very proud. After six months, if I keep this pace, it will be 234 days. I know this effort takes one day at a time. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. For this reason, my biggest challenge is showing up everyday.
Having fun
As I mentioned in my New Year’s resolutions, I wanted to make this year to be about having fun. Sometimes it feels like I’m going in the opposite direction. Having to answer a different prompt every day is a challenge. Pausing to think hard about the subjects adds to the difficulty. Completing everything in less than 24 hours makes it even more challenging. There’s research to be done, pictures to be taken, chosen or generated, and the post itself to be written. Still, I am having fun!
Knowing myself
I am learning a lot, and I really mean a lot, about myself. For example, I am revisiting my Brazilian heritage, through cooking, movies, and books. I am reflecting deeply about my life, childhood, teenage years and well into adulthood. My family, partner, and pets are also appearing prominently.
Making a difference
In one of my posts I defined what my life mission was. I want to make a difference in the lives of people I interact with. I have reflected about ecological issues, social movements, political solutions, among many other things. If I can touch at least one person and make their lives better, I am already happy.
I know that for me to keep writing it will take one day at a time. I will need to show perseverance and commitment. But hopefully, I will get there.
